Beachside village with weekend-home energy
Goderich is where Freetown starts to ease into the rural peninsula. Still part of the city but with a different pace - low density, plenty of greenery, and a coastline that ranges from working fishing beach to private-feeling coves. Popular for weekend homes and family compounds.

The drive out to Goderich from the CBD takes 35-45 minutes depending on traffic. Most buyers here are building rather than renting: plots of 800-3000m² with titled documentation are common, and a growing number of SL diaspora are building holiday homes with year-round staff.
Rentals are rarer but exist - mostly beach villas for short-stay and a handful of 2-3 bed houses aimed at long-term residents who don’t mind the commute. Expect prices per m² that are 30-50% lower than Aberdeen for buy, but rents that are comparable because supply is limited.
Utilities are the main gotcha. EDSA service is less reliable this far out; plan for a solar + generator hybrid. Water is typically borehole rather than municipal. The upside: stars are properly visible at night, which isn’t true for much of central Freetown.
